Michael Nagle has been teaching hands-on math and science for the past three years to elementary-aged kids in a variety of settings (afterschool programs, homeschooling groups, and Camp Kaleidoscope.) He founded Camp Kaleidoscope in 2006, and graduated from MIT with a math degree in 2005. His other teaching adventures have included volunteer teaching SAT prep to inner-city youth in Boston, teaching intro chemistry and calculus at MIT, and teaching a free Advanced Placement calculus course for high schoolers. He's also begun writing articles for education journals about teaching empowerment and hands-on science, and hopes to provide links to the publications soon!
Natasha Hawke has worked in Waldorf schools and has home schooled her own children. She has taught bike mechanics at Bikes Not Bombs since 2005, in their youth "earn-a-bike" program as well as instructor training. Natasha has taught children a wide variety of things in various settings. From raptor education at Habitat (Audubon Sanctuary in Belmont) to a multi age engineering series for homeschooled children. She has run her own independent summer camps with a focus on mechanics, and began working for Camp Kaleidoscope in 2007. She was on the advisory board of the Seattle School of Midwifery's New England Branch, and has worked for the Burlington Public School Science Center for several years. She is currently at Harvard attaining a degree in Education. [She is also a contributor to the Oxford English Dictionary - how cool is that!]
